Strategic PlanningThe purpose of Strategic Planning is not to create a document, but rather to develop an orientation and mindset understood by every employee that serves as a guide for day-to-day decision-making at every level. With this program, we bring about “CEO level thinking” throughout the key parts of the organization. Everyone understands where their part of the business fits into the organization and how their goals supports the business. The Process: We organize our efforts around three distinct phases which leads to strategy development and action plans. The first phase is to assess the organization and determine its current reality in relation to seven key elements:
The second phase includes assessing the future business environment and defining a strategic direction and vision. A key component to understand is how the organization will differentiate itself from competitors. The organization identifies goals and focused activities that include performance initiatives and a master plan to manage the business. The third phase is executing the plan. The execution of the plan is where most organizations fail and therefore, we help the organization stay focused on their plan. We stay active with the organization for a longer period assisting them in following the strategy and initiatives that they identified as critical to their success. The Results: We optimize the business against threats in the environment such as regulatory, competitive, financial, market and supplier demands. A strategic planning process does take time. We begin immediately at the first session integrating the organization’s day-to-day management efforts into the process so that strategic planning is not see as “more work,” but as an activity integral to the success of the organization. The Structure: The customized strategic planning program is conducted at the client’s location over a 6-12 month period. Bi-weekly two to three hour sessions with the management team and others cover a variety of issues.
